Female Athletes
Leaking of urine is common in sport regardless or pregnancy or not.
At Kin we are passionate about keeping our athletes moving without their pelvic floor holding them back!
Did you know that nearly half (46%) of Australian women surveyed stopped exercising due to pelvic floor issues?
Exercise is vital for overall health – from strong bones and a healthy heart to mental well-being and hormonal balance.
Losing out on sport due to pelvic floor concerns can have a ripple effect and impact our overall health.
Jessie at Kin Physio has a background in sports physio and combines pelvic health and musculoskeletal knowledge to keep you moving.
Hip Injuries:
Struggling with persistent hip pain despite traditional treatments?
Your pelvic floor could be the missing piece.
Some of your hip muscles actually directly connect to your pelvic floor. When the pelvic floor muscles are overly tense, they can pull on these hip muscles, leading to impingement injuries like labral tears.
So if you’ve had hip issues that haven’t responded to the usual musculoskeletal treatment your pain may be driven from your pelvic floor!
At Kin Physio:
We empower female athletes to stay active and enjoy the activities they love. We understand the unique demands placed on the pelvic floor during exercise and how hormonal fluctuations throughout your cycle can impact symptoms.
Our holistic approach helps you regain control, prevent future issues, and keep doing what you do best – being active!
We treat our athletes both at the Geelong and Lorne clinics.
