Pelvic floor symptoms can be difficult to talk about.
But often patients will say they wish they attended sooner.
What to expect at your initial appointment?
We will take a thorough history of the main symptoms that are bothering you. As well as ask about your bladder, bowel and sexual function, general health, exercise levels etc. This will give us an understanding of how your pelvic floor is functioning
A vaginal or rectal assessment may be offered to provide feedback about your pelvic floor.
If you come to see us for pelvic pain or are worried about an internal assessment we don’t have to do an internal assessment. We have been able to make plenty of progress with our clients starting this way. We may offer an internal in the future but it will always be your choice.
We will provide education regarding the cause of your symptoms as well as a tailored program for you. This may include strengthening, electrotherapy, stretches and breathing techniques and more
