Prostate Cancer
Did you know that urinary incontinence is common after prostate surgery?
Pelvic floor physiotherapists are trained to help you prepare for and recover from prostatectomy (prostate removal surgery).
Physio is now recommended as standard BEFORE and AFTER Surgery.
Several studies have shown the benefit of pelvic floor muscle training in the lead up to and following radical prostatectomy for treating urinary incontinence.
What are common bladder symptoms following surgery?
leaking urine with coughing, sneezing and laughing
leaking urine with change of positions (such as sitting to standing)
leaking with walking and exercise
urinary urgency and increased urinary frequency
What to expect at your initial appointment?
